Camp Director/Owner
Ms. Jackqueline Lindsey
I am the Owner and Educator of the STEAM Bioengineering Program. I created this program to reach kids in a unique and inspiring way by teaching them skills that could potentially lead to careers in agriculture, aquaculture, and engineering. With over 20 years of experience as an educator and leader in the educational community, I am committed to giving students the knowledge, experience, and confidence to make a difference in the world. Through this program, I strive to show students how science, technology, engineering, and math come together to create a fun and meaningful learning experience.
Science Instructor
Ms. Bridget Horton
Ms. Bridget Horton is a retired educator from Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) with over 30 years of experience in educating students. She is passionate about utilizing STEAM as an important tool for student growth and development, particularly in the fields of bioengineering. Her experience and enthusiasm make her a valuable asset to any STEAM bioengineering program and she is committed to helping students reach their fullest potential. Ms. Horton is an advocate for STEAM education and is dedicated to helping students discover their passion and pursue their dreams.
Adminstrative Assistant
Ms. Briana Lindsey
Ms. Briana Lindsey is an outstanding addition to the STEAM Bioengineering Program. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. As a Cass Technical High graduate and attended Bennett College. Additionally, she has over 10 years of customer service and administrative support services working with companies like Quicken and Del Bene. Her recent certification in nail comesticology adds to her already impressive skill set. Ms. Lindsey is sure to be an asset to the STEAM Bioengineering Program.
Cooking Instructor/Mathematics
Ms. Tonya Jennings
Ms. Tonya Jennings is a highly qualified educator who brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the STEAM Bioengineering Program. She is currently certified in elementary education and has an endorsement in Reading/ELA, as well as over 15 years of experience in the field. Ms. Jennings loves to think outside the box and uses her passion for cooking to bring learning to life. She has been known to use cooking, science, and technology to teach reading and mathematics. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her dedication to her craft make her an ideal mentor for the STEAM Bioengineering Program. Ms. Jennings is an asset to the program, and her passion for teaching is undeniable.
Reading/ELA Instructor
Ms. Narissa Donald
Ms. Narissa Donald is an experienced educator with a passion for STEAM education. Currently working as an elementary school teacher specializing in English Language Arts, she is certified with more than 10 years of experience in education and holds a ZA endorsement in early childhood. Ms. Donald is an advocate for student voice and the social emotional well-being of her students, and she is excited to bring her enthusiasm for STEAM to the classroom. Ms. Donald is committed to creating hands-on, creative learning experiences for her students, and to teaching them the skills needed to succeed in the modern world.
Intern/Chess instructor
Mr. Charles Lindsey, Jr.
Mr. Charles Lindsey, Jr. is a perfect fit for our STEAM Bioengineering Program. He is a graduate of Cass Technical High School, a former Lacrosse player, and currently a student at Hampton University majoring in Finance and Business while also serving as a NRTOC Marine Corp. scholar. Mr. Lindsey is an impressive individual who has taught Chess as a teaching assistant for his professor and established the first Chess Club on Hampton University's campus and is now interning with us in the finance department. He is passionate about the importance of attending college and is a proud alumni of the Urban Alliance in Detroit - having recently represented them at the national conference in D.C. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the knowledge and experience he will bring to our program.
Health Officer
Ms. Ette Garth
Ms. Ette Garth is an exemplary leader for our STEAM Bioengineering Program. She is currently an assistant principal for a public school, and has been certified in elementary education with special education endorsement for over 20 years. Ms. Garth is also a passionate community activist and entrepreneur, and is dedicated to investing into the future of our youth. Her unique combination of educational and leadership experience makes her an ideal mentor and role model for our students in the STEAM Bioengineering Program.
