"Grow and Create the World of Tomorrow with Sol Garden Creations & Aqua Creations!"

At our STEAM Bioengineering After School Program, we offer a unique agriculture and aquaponics curriculum! Our highly qualified staff will guide students through the process of understanding the science behind agriculture and aquaponics, while providing them with a hands-on experience. Our program includes a standards-based supplemental student material to support the students’ learning and growth in this area. Through our program, students will gain a better understanding of the importance of agriculture and aquaponics, and will be better prepared to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Agriculture

Class breakdown (2 hour session)
Day 1

  • Students receive a do now to review learned skills during mini lesson (10 minutes)

  • Students continue with current skills or learn a new skill (20 minutes)

  • Students are then given directions on new task (10 minutes)

  • Teacher demonstrates and explains student expectations during task (15‐20 minutes)

  • Students begin task (30 minutes)

  • Students complete task and exit ticket and/or hard stop to be continued in next session (10 minutes)

  • Clean‐up (15 minutes)

  • Closure‐ discuss what was learned (5 minutes)

Day 2

  • Students receive a do now to review learned skills during mini lesson (10 minutes)

  • Students continue with current skills or learn a new skill (20 minutes)

  • Students complete previous day’s task (60 minutes)

  • Complete post survey (20 minutes)

  • Clean‐up (15 minutes)

  • Closure‐ discuss what was learned (5 minutes)

Or

  • Students are then given directions on new task (10 minutes)

  • Teacher demonstrates and explains student expectations during task (15‐20 minutes)

  • Students begin task (30 minutes)

STEAM Bioengineering‐Agriculture: After school program grades 3‐8. Students will be given a pre‐test
to determine their knowledge of agriculture. They will complete a series of mini lessons before they
begin each activity in Science, Reading, and/or Mathematics that are related to the agricultural hands on activity. Upon completion of new learning the students will be given a post survey. All agricultural courses come with complete kits to begin the garden

Aquaponics

STEAM Bioengineering‐Aquaponics program for after school for grades 3‐8. Students will be given a
